Automation Engineer

Summary:

Join our Innovation Department at Jordan Ahli Bank as a Business Process Automation Specialist, where you'll lead the technical development of intelligent process automation solutions using Camunda. This role combines deep banking domain expertise with hands-on software development to drive our digital transformation initiatives.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Process Automation Development

• Design, develop, and deploy automated banking workflows using Camunda BPMN 2.0 and DMN.
• Build end-to-end process automation solutions for loan processing, customer onboarding, compliance workflows, and transaction processing.
• Integrate Camunda workflows with core banking systems, microservices, and third-party APIs.
• Implement process monitoring, optimization, and continuous improvement strategies.

Technical Development

• Develop Java-based applications using Spring Boot framework for process integration.
• Build RESTful APIs and microservices to support workflow automation.
• Work with containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Integrate with cloud infrastructure and database technologies.

Banking Process Expertise

• Analyze and model complex banking processes including KYC/AML, transaction processing, and regulatory compliance workflows.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate banking requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure all automated processes comply with banking regulations and security standards.
• Support process governance and change management initiative.

Skills & Qualifications:

Experience & Background

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in banking/financial services sector.
• Minimum 4 years of direct experience with Camunda BPM platform or similar.
• Proven track record of delivering business process automation solutions in banking environments.

Technical Skills

• Expert-level proficiency in Camunda BPM (BPMN 2.0, DMN, CMMN) or equivalent.
• Strong Java development skills with Spring Boot framework.
• Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
• Proficiency in database technologies.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

Banking Domain Knowledge

• Deep understanding of banking operations: lending, payments, compliance, risk management.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements: KYC/AML, Basel III, data protection regulations.
• Experience with core banking systems integration.
• Understanding of financial transaction processing and settlement systems.

Additional Technical Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of authentication/authorization frameworks.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Camunda certification (Camunda Certified Developer).
• Experience with Python or Node.js.
• Knowledge of ESB/API gateway technologies.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code
